Day 13 of posting a cheap but beautiful card from my collection until this hobby isn't cooked.

A double banger today in honour of my inspiration F1exican finishing their journey (and also, hopefully, starting another). Reddit will be a slightly smaller and sadder place without a daily dose of perfection seeking chives. Also, a short post, because I've been looking at Christmas lights with my son all evening. Arbok - Rare from Hidden Fates, released in 2019, and illustrated kirisAki. Weezing - Rare from Hidden Fates, released in 2019, and illustrated by Hideki Ishikawa. These cards underscore the entire thesis of these posts, that great art exists in this hobby, and that it is both affordable and accessible, if you look for it. Neither of these card illustrations are particularly beautiful when held up against other great pieces of work in this TCG, but they are fun, and they benefit from the worldbuilding and interconnectivity of the Pokémon world. Like many other people, I thought Destined Rivals should have focused more on the more recognizable and visible elements of Team Rocket (I.e. Jessie, James, and Meowth). It's still a fun set, but the lack of Jessie and James feels like a hole. It also means that anyone wanting card art of those two characters needs to spend some big bucks on some older cards. These two cards often fly under the radar, even though they are very fun Team Rocket arts that are also very cheap.
