Poll Results & Rule Updates
The results are in! Over the weekend we held a community poll about whether to ban users who participate in profiteering subreddits like r/OnePieceTCGFinance . The results were resounding. With a ratio of almost 3:1 the community wants to ban users of those subreddits. We have create a new rule (Rule #9 - No Participation in Profiteering Subreddits) and it will go into effect fully on 12/31. Here is how it will work: From 12/31 on, if you comment or post in any TCG subreddit focused on Finance or Investing you will be banned from this community. This extends beyond just the OPTCG Finance sub. If you have posted in the past you will not be impacted by this rule. If you are banned you will be able to complete an appeal form sent to you in the ban message. This rule extends to any profiteering, including posting/commenting on this subreddit to solicit investment advice. Account Age limits and Karma minimums have been increased to prevent users from creating new accounts/alts to avoid the bans. Ban Evasion remains active and accounts that evade bans are automatically reported to Reddit when we ban them which nukes their main account and alt. In addition to Rule #9, we have adjusted Rule #3 to include Sealed Products in the Pull Megathread. This Megathread has now been changed to "Pick Ups" to broaden its use. Finally, with Rule #9 going live, the mod team will be much more strict about aggressive comments towards users with things like "Go away Pokebro" and other comments dismissing users as profiteers. Some of these comments are warranted, and those users will be banned, but with this new rule in place we will be issuing bans to users who are hostile to new players entering our space and looking for help. Give users the benefit of the doubt. If they made it past all of our defenses, chances are they are good people and should be treated as such. - tjmalt421, on behalf of the mod team submitted by /u/tjmalt421 [link] [comments]
